Route overview

Follow the Yoho River valley past forest and waterfall viewpoints to Laughing Falls.

This defined day-hike segment follows the official Yoho Valley Trail from the Takakkaw Falls area to Laughing Falls at 4.5 km. The route combines river scenery, forest and access to short waterfall viewpoints without committing to the longer Twin Falls or Little Yoho Valley objectives.

National park admission normally applies; no day-hike permit is normally required. Overnight use of Laughing Falls backcountry campground requires a separate reservation/permit.
