Hike to Cascade Lake, continue up the signed summit trail to Observation Peak and return.
Observation Peak combines the easy Cascade Lake approach with a major climb through whitebark pine forest. Beyond the lake, the trail gains roughly 1,400 feet in 2.6 miles and provides no further water. Lingering snow and altitude materially increase the commitment.
