Lower Emerald Pool Trail crosses the Virgin River near Zion Lodge and follows a developed path toward an alcove below seasonal waterfalls. Water flow varies, and surfaces can become wet, sandy or icy. The route is one of Zion Canyon's more approachable scenic walks, but crowding and slippery sections require patience. It can be combined with Kayenta or the upper pools only when connecting trails are officially open.
