Hooker Valley Track — Open Lower Section

Route overview

Walk the open lower valley section to Mueller Lake and Kakīroa/Mount Sefton viewpoints.

This record represents only the officially open lower section during the 2025–2026 bridge project. The firm lower surface reaches Mueller Lake Lookout, after which steps lead farther toward Kakīroa/Mount Sefton View Lookout. It must never be displayed as the full Hooker Lake route while the upper closure remains.
