Route overview
The Dingle Way is a circular long-distance trail of approximately 179 kilometres around the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland's westernmost peninsula. The route combines cliff-top walking, mountain tracks, bog roads, and short sections of minor road through one of Ireland's most dramatically scenic regions. The peninsula is part of the Gaeltacht area where Irish Gaelic remains the first language of daily life in many villages. The landscape includes the highest mountain range in Ireland outside County Kerry, the Brandon Group, with Mount Brandon reaching 952 metres. The route passes through fishing villages such as Dingle, Ballydavid, and Dunquin, and offers views of the Blasket Islands. The trail is well waymarked and can be walked in either direction. Accommodation is available in villages, with some rural sections requiring pre-booked transfers or camping. The Slea Head section offers particularly dramatic Atlantic coastal scenery.

Safety context
Mountain sections on Mount Brandon require navigation in poor visibility. Cliff-top paths are exposed to Atlantic winds. Tide times should be checked for beach sections.
Some road sections are on narrow rural roads without pavements. Accommodation books up in July and August. Midges are present near bog and lake sections.
