Broken Hills Trail
A difficult West Block loop leading to one of the park’s uncommon uninterrupted 360-degree grassland views.
Route overview
Broken Hills Trail in West Block.
Broken Hills Trail rewards a substantial prairie approach with broad, unobstructed views. The visual openness should not be confused with easy travel: the official difficulty, eleven-kilometre distance and complete exposure make weather assessment critical. Groups should leave early enough to avoid peak heat and abandon the route when thunderstorms threaten because shelter is scarce.
